PYSA Summer Rec

 

 

 

Below you will find a description for each of the Administrative positions that are needed to run the PYSA Summer Rec program. The only real pre-requisite for each of the positions is that you are a caring, interested parent who is willing to volunteer, commit and take responsibility for making it happen. Keep in mind that the person you replace is just a phone call away and would be more than happy to guide you in the right direction, as would all previous members of the board. 

 

Please also remember that programs won't continue to happen next year just because they happened this year. Volunteers are needed to insure that programs will continue, so children can play.

 

President: Coordinate efforts of all PYSA staff so that PYSA Summer Rec program happens as planned. Liaison between town/state and all Portsmouth Youth Soccer Association programs.

 

Immediate Past President: Assists President. Provides Continuity.

 

Vice President: Assists President in carrying out responsibilities.

 

Director of Coaches: Recruits Volunteer Coaches. Assigns children onto teams that have registered and have been placed into a division by the registrar. Works with key information from Registrar and Director of Sponsors.

 

Registrar: Coordinates the registration process. Enters new registrants into data base. Enters all registrants into leagues (point and click). Coordinates two registration evenings and printing of forms and advertising for registration.

 

Treasurer: Keeps books for Association. Writes checks. Submits financial information to Tax Accountant.

 

Fields and Equipment Coordinator: Coordination of Field setup day, cutting the grass, and lining fields. Ensures First Aid Kits available at game sites.

 

T-Shirt Coordinator: Gets key information from Director of Sponsors. Orders the proper amount of T-Shirts form local vendor. Distributes T-Shirts to coaches and Division Directors.

 

Director of Sponsors: Solicits local businesses for dollar contributions to help run the program. Passes key information on to Director of Coaches and T-Shirt Coordinator.

 

Referees Coordinator: Coordinates running of Referee training classes to be held in Portsmouth. Coordinates and recruits youth referees. Schedules referees for PYSA Summer Rec games.

 

Secretary: Keeps minutes of meetings. Schedules meetings. Informs Officers and Staff of meeting dates.

 

The board year runs from January 1st through December 31st. Most activity occurs in April, May and June. Light activity January, February & March. One meeting held during the fall.

 

Please volunteer now. If you don't, your child might not have a program to participate in!
